A vintage Arita porcelain vase by Fujii Shumei (1936–2017). The oval body is adorned with a hand-painted hazy moonlit landscape of Arita. The moon is made with gold leaf, and the trees are painted using his well-known “leaf technique,” in which dyed natural leaves are applied to unglazed porcelain to leave delicate vein patterns. Signed by the artist on the base.
